Food waste is a big problem in Romania, as it is throughout Europe. 20% of the food produced in our country ends up in the trash, even though it is still good for consumption.

The blame is shared across the entire supply and processing chain, including after the food is bought by people. However, 60% of the waste is still produced by the industry.

So, we showed the most efficient and impactful method of reducing food waste: donating to NGOs. They ensure that food reaches impoverished people, instead of being thrown away.

Watch a powerful action by several organizations, who ensure that food packages collected at 12:00 PM on any given day reach needy children by 7:00 PM, as dinner.

IN MEMORIAM

This episode was made with the support of Gabriel Sescu, who founded the first Food Bank in Romania.

Mr. Sescu passed away, but he left a valuable legacy. A project that creates a direct link between food waste and the need for food.

May God rest his soul!
