Industrial hemp, which is different from cannabis used to make marijuana, is a wonder plant. It grows quickly, doesn't need much maintenance, doesn't require pesticides because it doesn't get weeds or diseases, and most importantly...it absorbs a lot of carbon dioxide.

Furthermore, it is very beneficial for farmers who grow other crops, such as corn, for crop rotation. This practice is imposed by authorities on farmers who want to continue receiving subsidies.

That's why the European Commission views this crop as a strategic one in the fight against global warming.
