One of the largest chicken producers in Romania, Transavia, says it manages to save up to 99% of the waste produced in its factories. Instead of discarding it, they give it a new purpose. And, remarkably, they even make money from it.

How? That was the question that made us visit Alba and Cluj. There, we saw how slaughterhouse waste is transformed into protein meals, and poultry droppings and sludge from wastewater treatment plants are turned into organic fertilizer.
